High flexible rubber shaft couplings

HAT rubber shaft tyre couplings are highly flexible couplings with an elastomer, tissue-reinforced shaft tyre which is fitted as transmission element between the coupling halves. These couplings are ideally suited for connecting two shafts in electric as well as diesel drives.

GWR couplings are distinguished by the following features:

  • Zero backlash
  • Torsionally flexible
  • Flexurally flexible to compensate substantial radial, axial and angular shaft misalignments
  • Suitable for impact stresses in both directions
  • Good damping properties; torque impacts are faded out quickly
  • Very simple radial assembly/disassembly of shaft tyre; coupled units need not be removed
  • Good visual control of the transmission element (shaft tyre) 


Fields of application:

 HAT rubber shaft tyre couplings are used in all areas where substantial misalignments and impacts have to be compensated. They are particularly suited for installation in machinery with steady and fluctuating power takeoff of medium up to heavy designs, such as in metallurgical plants, in roller gear beds and highly loaded cranes.
